My Birthday Gift – Acca Kappa

Yesterday I bought myself a birthday gift that I have been wanting for a long time since I was a teenager. It’s an Italian brand named Acca Kappa hairbrushes which existed since 140 years ago. I like its fine quality with ergonomic wooden handles and timelessly stylish. Well it’s not that cheap luckily they have a Christmas promotion set for RM250 for three types of hairbrushes (for wet hair, normal care and for travelling). I can massage my scalp using this hairbrush. The actual price is RM400.

My desire for a really nice and lovely comb started when I was 12 years old. I read a short love story titled ‘The gift of Magi’. The story is about a young couple who is very much in love with each other, but can barely afford to support their life due to their bad economic situation. So, one day Della, the wife, decided to buy her husband, Jim, a chain as a Christmas gift. The chain is for his prized pocket watch given to him by his father. However, she doesn’t have enough money to buy the chain, so she decided to sacrifice herself by cutting off her long beautiful hair and sold it to make a wig. With that money, she could buy the chain. Meanwhile, Jim decides to sell his watch to buy Della a beautiful set of combs made out of tortoiseshell and jewels for her lovely, knee-length brown hair. Although each is disappointed to find the gift they chose rendered useless, each is pleased with the gift they received, because it represents their love for one another. Sometimes we need to sacrifice something precious for love and we gain from it later.

After reading the book, since that day I have two wishes in my life. First, keeping my hair as long as possible (when I was a kid, my mom always make sure my hair is so short like a tom boy) and secondly, buying a really nice hair brush. When I was 15 years old, my hair was already below the waistline. Since that whenever I go for shopping I will always look for the best hair brush that suits my type of hair. Even every time I travelled to overseas, I will look for the hairbrush. But unfortunately it's not to my liking. As I grew older, my preferences changed from not only beautiful hairbursh but it should be fine quality and good for healthy scalp.

I’m happy now since I have fulfilled one of my wishes. I love my long curly hair. *_*

Today is My Birthday - December 7

This year I celebrated my 43th Birthday and had a great fun. I want to celebrate it for the whole month of December. I don't want to have fun just for one day.

Last week I got a surprise birthday cake at a restaurant named Chef & Brew. We had a business lunch. My face turned red when suddenly I saw some waiters brought the cake and sand a Happy Birthday song. It's so embarassing because I didn't expect it. What a pleasant surprise.

Yesterday one of my closest friends gave me a treat by celebrating my birthday at the Conlay karaoke. It's was great too. She also ordered some nice western food from Jansens & Rawlings.
Anyway because of her, for the first time I sang in a karaoke. Usually I am a very shy person. I would prefer to select song insteds of singing. My friend said that I had a nice voice. I think my voice is like 'serak serak manja' or sweet husky hee hee. I like to sing a duet with my partner. He has a nice voice and he taught me a lot. Thanks B and especially R!

Today another close friend of mine gave me a lunch treat at a new restaurant that has just opened recently called Citrus at the Bangsar Village II. We had a nice Pakistani salad, Chicken Briyani and Penang style Char Kuey Teow. It's yummy! Thanks S.

Tomorrow I'm going to celebrate my birthday with my colleagues at the office. The menu will be Chicken Fried rice with prawns, Fried chilly Padi Chicken and salad. It's a home cook even the salad dressing is a home made. Thanks my darling chef!

Next week I will celebrate my birthday with another friend of mine who is also just one day after of my birthday. We are Sagis. This time the function will be held at the Kampungku Nelayan Restaurant at Lake View. I hope I will have a great time.

Next two weeks I will celebrate my Birthday again with my family. Cool! I'm thinking of buying either Blueberry Cheesecake or Black Forest. Not sure..my favourite is chocolate cake. But since I'm going to make chocolate fudge, I think Blueberry cheesecake is a better choice.

This year is the best birthday I've ever had....maybe I will get more surprises..who knows ^_*

Back to Basic 2 - Using CMS?

Content Management System or CMS is a system that is supposed to simplify your work for web content management. But sometimes I would prefer go back to basic by using html and design the website manually. I'm not an IT savvy but I did learn some simple html or xml. I remembered during mid 1990s, I can create a simple website and update it without having problem. Now, the new CMS is more complicated and not that easy to manage.

Cracking my head now..I'm in the midst of preparing a CMS training manual for Arabic website. *_*
